Re: Shale Gas Boom investing... -- You are correct in your assessment -- It is likely immoral. -- I personally do not invest in oil, but did think the article was relevant to this site for some. -- I do agree that fracking is dangerously risky to our water supply and our health. But I also understand this belief by many will not stop this industry, despite valid concerns. -- I do appreciate your input.

PS: I wonder what all this fracking waste will cost to clean up? I mean.. what is a drop of potable water worth to a person in the desert.. or even lost on the ocean with all that water and none to drink.. pray for rain I guess!!

Hey.. oh right .. it's all coming back to me.. the gov't intends on moving thousands of tons of highly radioactive waste by rail or truck in enclosed casks from about 150 sites across the states, to a chosen site in NV that sits in an active earthquake area, and this action will be overseen by the smae gov't agency that oversaw the waste accumulation and it will be paid for by the ratepayers and taxpayers of the country... when do you think the cost will hit the average electric bill.. seems like now is a great time to get off the grid as much as possible.. I don't want to pay for nuke waste disposal.. I was never for nuke plants to begin with! regards, Joe

You wrote: “I never see any of these articles really address the true cost of by product waste disposal. I have 3 ?'s??? what exactly is done to 'decommission' a nuke plant? where and how exactly will the waste be disposed or reposed? and who is and how much are they paying for all this?” I’ve read 4 or 5 articles on this plant closing and this is what I’ve gleaned so far: In reverse order: (3) Southern California Edison would like the rate-payers to pay. The rate-payers would like the stockholders to pay. The California Public Utility Commission will rule one way or the other ... then there will be lawsuits filed by the loosing side. In about 10 years it’ll be settled. My take is that the rate-payers, in the end, always foot the bill. (2) The nuclear rods will be stored at the facility until the Federal government makes a decision as to where ALL spent nuclear waste will go. (1) The U.S. Nuclear Power Commission will insure that all radioactive mat

Hello Joeski1 -- May you & your family have a safe & blessed Memorial Day weekend as we honor those who served our country ~

When I was a kid, I used to drive all the way to a Echelon Bowling to do moonlight bowling, where they would shut all the lights off around the alley. If a head pin was red and you got a strike, you would get 50 cents, if it were blue and you got a strike, you got a free game. I don't know if that is done anymore. I used to bowl at Edison Lanes which was 112 lanes, which is now a shopping center.
