That could be the reason Ford sells so few hybrids -- they ain't worth spit when it comes to quality.

By affordable they don't mean under $20K... I'm looking forward to the F-1 designed hybrid car priced at $11K. Now that's affordable.

Glad to see that Ford is making hybrid and electric cars more affordable. That and the fact they are increasing employment puts them high on my list when it comes to buying a car!

Ford lost me about 30 years ago when their dealers decided not to live up to a warranty.....
Before that... I really loved the Ford Fiesta (1978)....great car.

Looks like Ford is hoping Toyota will stay still until Ford can catch up.

Come on GasBuddy, bring us something new, please.
Can Ford ever catch up with Toyota? And will GM follow in this direction?
Pure electric vehicles are NOT really Green, unless they are recharged using renewable energy like solar power or wind energy. Much commercial electricity in the U.S. is still generated by burning dirty coal. EVs just increase the demand for electricity instead of oil based fuels.

Is Ford competing in a broad "electrified vehicles" market or just gasoline/electric hybrids?

Until electric cars can travel a similar distance as their gas counter parts, they will not really catch on.
